I thought this would be a fun place to record creative, inexpensive Valentine's Day ideas. Two years ago, my sweet husband surprised me with a huge pad of Post-It Notes for Valentine's Day. It wasn't the Post-Its that made the gift memorable, it was the effort he put into the gift. He filled each note with a romantic thought, a quote from a love story, or an affirmation of his love for me. I still have a whole bunch of them hanging in my room. He covered my bathroom mirror with the notes (in the shape of a heart), and our bathroom door, and my bookshelf, and and and...you get the idea. It was so fun to read them all, and it still reminds me of how much he loves me. He combined the notes with a clean room, a small box of chocolate, and a foot massage. I think the entire Valentine's gift cost less than $5. Yet, it's probably the most memorable Valentine's Day gift I've ever had.
Get creative, and have fun! The personal touch and effort is what makes Valentine's special for your sweetheart.

Geocaching
More fun!
If you've got a GPS, check out geocaching! It's like hi-tech treasure hunting. Very cool. My friend Melanie loves it, and takes her kids. Thanks, Mel for the tip!
